Web Design & Development

Web design and development

For most customers the website is the first interface they meet. We design structure around content and business needs, with attention to load performance and search readability, and hand over a CMS you can maintain.

What do we focus on?

A site is worth building if it can be found, used and maintained. These are the baseline requirements we handle on every project.

Load performance
Control resource weight and loading strategy so the site stays fast on ordinary connections. Performance affects both retention and ranking.
Search readability
Semantic HTML, structured data and correct heading hierarchy, so search engines and AI crawlers read the content accurately.
Mobile experience
Designed from the small screen up, so phone use is complete rather than a compressed desktop layout.
Content management
Editing interfaces designed around your real content types, safe for non-technical staff to use.
Accessibility
Keyboard operation, colour contrast and screen reader support, covering both practical usability and compliance.
Long-term maintainability
Clear code structure and documentation, so future changes do not require relearning the whole system.

Frequently asked questions

Do you use templates or design from scratch?
We start from design. The problem with templates is not appearance but structure: when requirements diverge from the template's assumptions, the cost of forcing a fit often exceeds the cost of building properly. We design structure around the content and the business, then implement the interface.
Can we update content ourselves?
Yes. We provide a purpose-built content management system with an editing interface designed around your actual content types, rather than a generic admin panel you have to work out for yourself.
Will the site be search-engine friendly?
Our sites include the full technical foundation by default: semantic HTML, structured data, sitemap, canonical tags and performance work. That is the baseline standard, not a paid extra. Ongoing content strategy and optimisation fall under our GEO and SEO service.
What happens after the site launches?
Sites need ongoing care: security updates, content changes, new features. We can provide scheduled maintenance, or hand over documentation and access in full at delivery so you can arrange it yourself.
